Refund Policy

Fair and transparent refund terms for SMS verification services.

1. Overview

SMSVerifier provides virtual phone numbers for SMS verification. Due to the nature of this service, each number request incurs a real cost from our upstream providers, regardless of whether the SMS is ultimately received. Our refund policy balances fairness to our customers with the operational costs of running the platform.

Here's a summary of the three refund scenarios:

Automatic Refund After timeout

If no SMS is received after the full 20-minute waiting period, your balance is restored automatically.

Early Cancellation Conditional

You may cancel before timeout, but a minimum waiting period of 5 minutes is required. Frequent early cancellations may be restricted.

No Refund Final

SMS was delivered, order completed. Or the order was used on a different service than selected. No refund.

2. Order Refunds (SMS Verification)

Refunds for individual SMS verification orders are handled as follows:

2.1 Automatic Timeout Refund

Each order has a 20-minute delivery window. If the target service does not send an SMS within this period:

  • The order is automatically marked as "Expired"
  • The full order amount is returned to your account balance
  • No action is required from you
Important: SMS delivery times vary significantly depending on the service and country. Some services (especially banking, financial, and government services) may take up to 15-20 minutes to send an SMS. Cancelling too early significantly reduces your chance of receiving the SMS. We strongly recommend waiting the full 20 minutes.

2.2 Manual Cancellation

You may cancel an active order before the timeout period ends. However, please note:

  • A minimum waiting period of 5 minutes is required before cancellation is allowed
  • Every number request costs us money from our upstream providers, even if you cancel
  • Early cancellation is a convenience feature, not a guarantee — we reserve the right to restrict this feature for accounts with excessive cancellation rates
  • If an SMS arrives during the cancellation process, the order will be completed instead and no refund will be issued

3. Cancellation Rules & Waiting Period

To ensure fair usage and minimize abuse, the following rules apply to order cancellations:

  • Minimum wait time: You must wait at least 5 minutes after placing an order before cancellation is available
  • Cancellation rate limit: Accounts with a cancellation rate exceeding 70% of total orders may have cancellation privileges temporarily suspended
  • Daily cancellation limit: A maximum of 10 cancellations per day is permitted. After this limit, you must wait for orders to expire naturally
  • Cooling-off period: After cancelling an order, you must wait 2 minutes before placing a new order for the same service and country combination
Why these limits? Each number request costs us a fee from our SMS providers, regardless of whether you receive the SMS. When users cancel repeatedly without waiting, it generates costs that are not recoverable. These limits help us keep prices low for all users.

Best practices to avoid issues:

  • Always wait the full 20 minutes — many SMS messages arrive between 10-20 minutes
  • If a number doesn't work, try a different country rather than repeatedly requesting the same one
  • Check that you've selected the correct service before placing the order
  • Do not close the browser or navigate away during the waiting period

4. Non-Refundable Cases

Refunds will not be issued in the following situations:

  • SMS successfully delivered — Once an SMS code is received and displayed, the order is complete and final
  • Cross-service usage — If you purchased a number for one service (e.g., "WhatsApp") but used it on a different service (e.g., "Telegram"), no refund will be issued even if the SMS was not received. This constitutes misuse
  • Code not used — If an SMS code was delivered but you chose not to use it, let it expire, or it didn't work on the target service, the order is still considered completed
  • Multiple SMS codes — If a second SMS arrives on the same number after order completion, this does not entitle you to a refund on a new order
  • Account abuse or ToS violation — Accounts terminated for violation of our Terms of Service forfeit any remaining balance
  • Automated abuse — Bulk order-and-cancel patterns detected by our system will result in refund denial and potential account suspension
Warning: Repeatedly ordering numbers and immediately cancelling them is considered abuse. Our system monitors cancellation patterns, and accounts engaging in this behavior will be suspended without notice.

5. Deposit Refunds

Funds deposited into your SMSVerifier account are non-refundable prepaid credits:

  • All deposits are final and converted to account credit upon payment confirmation
  • Account credit does not expire and can be used for any service
  • We do not offer refunds for unused account balance, change of mind, or dissatisfaction with service availability

Limited exceptions:

  • Duplicate payment — If you were charged twice for the same deposit due to a payment processing error, the duplicate will be refunded to the original payment method
  • Unauthorized transaction — If a deposit was made without your authorization, contact us immediately with proof
Before depositing: We recommend starting with a small deposit to test the service and verify it meets your needs before making a larger deposit. Deposits cannot be refunded because they've been unsatisfied with the service.

6. Abuse & Excessive Refunds

We take refund abuse seriously. The following behaviors may result in account restrictions or termination:

  • Serial cancellation — Placing orders and cancelling within seconds/minutes without waiting for SMS delivery
  • Provider exploitation — Using numbers for services other than the one selected at checkout
  • Chargeback fraud — Filing chargebacks or payment disputes after using the service or receiving account credit
  • Multiple accounts — Creating multiple accounts to circumvent refund or cancellation limits
  • Automated cancel scripts — Using bots or scripts to automatically cancel orders

Consequences of abuse:

  • Temporary or permanent suspension of cancellation privileges
  • Account balance freeze pending investigation
  • Permanent account termination with forfeiture of remaining balance
  • Reporting to relevant fraud prevention services
Negative balance: If abuse is detected after refunds have been issued, your account balance may be adjusted to reflect the actual costs incurred. This may result in a negative balance that must be settled before further use of the platform.

7. Disputes & Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is incorrect:

  • Contact us first — Please reach out to our support team before filing a dispute with your payment provider. We resolve most issues within 24 hours
  • Provide details — Include your account email, transaction date, amount, and a description of the issue
Chargeback policy: Filing a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting us will result in immediate and permanent account termination and forfeiture of any remaining balance. We will also contest the chargeback with full transaction evidence. If the chargeback is reversed in our favor, your account will not be reinstated.
